Just curious if any other parents might be staying in the area while their daughters attend camp at Karolyis' Camp in Houston June 28 - July 3?
I figured there might be other out-of-state folks interested in getting together - or even sharing hotel or car rental? Just going out for dinner or...
Just curious if any other parents might be staying in the area while their daughters attend camp at UA June 15-18. The session is full, so I figured there might be other out-of-state folks interested in getting together - or even sharing hotel or car rental? Just going out for dinner or...
Has anyone sent their gymmie to PSU summer camp? My 12 year old level 6 attended a sleep away camp last summer; however, that camp will not be available this coming summer. I'm looking for other camps and PSU camp to mind.
How is the camp run? Do they get a lot of gym time? Did your gymmie...
Was wondering if any of your gymnasts participated in these summer camps offered by various NCAA programs?
If so, was it worth it?
-did they learn new skills/techniques which they were able to bring back to their home gym?
-did it help in the college recruitment process?
-what age/level...
We are moving overseas next year to a location with less experienced coaches and limited facilities/equipment. DD will be training lvl 8. She should have her giant before we leave. That's all that she still needs for 7.
I am considering saving up to take DD back to the states for three weeks of...
So I put an annual ban on all compulsory music, from Feb to June each year..... And Sadly this week, I heard the compulsory music being played for the first time.... It was a wonderful 4 and a half months while it lasted!!!!! Now I have to listen to it again, and again and again and...
Hey, I was just wondering what different levels/groups summer conditioning is like. So if you could just say what level you're in and what an average conditioning circuit would look like. Like what exercises, how may reps, and for how long.
Thanks!
My DD goes to a year round school -they get about 7 weeks off for summer. Our gym (as well as the other gyms in the area) has a 9 week summer schedule -so it starts 2 weeks before DD gets out of school for the summer. It's not a problem this year as DD's practice starts after school hours -but...
Mind you, this is not for this year, as it would be way too late to get into one anyway, and my daughter is too young. But she is interested in going to one next year. And I am as green as a Granny Smith apple in terms of camp knowledge.
So hit me with it. We are in the USA. Give me the great...
I was wondering how my DD's summer schedule is compared to other L6/7 gymnasts. Just to clarify, all of the girls already qualified for L7, but their skills at the end of the summer will determine their comp level for next season. They will be practicing 4 days per week for a total of 18hrs per...
Just wondering if anyone has experience of their clubs going abroad for summer camps. Is it worth it? the whole expense of it, especially if parents are asked to take their gymnast to the camp!
My DD (almost 8) is in the level 3 training group for the summer -she was definitely on the cusp of not making it into the group and staying in pre team but she was moved up in the end (and without me even asking for it). She is still missing skills as is most of the rest of her group. First...
Sorry if i put this in the wrong spot.
I was wondering if anyne has had experiance with IGC. I want to send kids there, but its expensive. Is it REALLY wroth it?
What should we pack if my kids go? Do you like it there? Hows the staff? Is the food good, or should they pack snacks? How many...
I'm trying to work out plans for the spring/summer lessons. This is the first year I'm taking the wheel on deciding what to do with pre -team. My head is swirling with lots we could do and I'm having a hard time pulling it all together.
This is an Xcel group that trains 6 hours a week of about...
Hello everybody!
I am going to be increasing my team's training hours over the summer break to really capitalize on training new skills and getting them ready for the next competitive season, with the goal of moving them all up to the next level. I am very excited for this because I'm going to...
Hello. I have a 7 year old, soon to be 8 in May. He competed age 7 Future Stars last year and the skills are significantly harder for the age 8 group. He competed Level 4 this year but has level 5 skills. Can anyone recommend a Summer Camp where you've experience significant skill...
Hi all-- wondering what your gyms do during summer-- what kind of practice schedule do you have vs. during school year. My DD is L6, maybe going to L7, so wondering about hours and schedules for optionals at this level. thanks
