This girl got a 39.35 all around  She recieved a 10.0 on bars :D

I'm confused about the mix of level 3 stuff and level 4 stuff. Vault was level 4. Beam dismount was level 4. Floor and bars were level 3. I didn't think you were allowed to do that. She is certainly very precise. The level 3s on my dd's team appear to be completely different creatures than this little girl.

The gymnast in the vid is competing AAU not USAG, that explains the difference in the required skills. Her form is impeccable:D!

Ah, I see. How very gymnocentric of me. Probably if I had be listening to the sountrack the floor music would have given it away, but I was just watching it.
No problem Mary A. I think your question is one others may have had too. When USAG is all you know, sometimes people have trouble understanding how different leagues work. Thank you gymnastjess for posting this vid link! I think it's great to see gymnast from other leagues...lots of talent out there in other leagues:D!

The mom of that that gymmie posts here! Her daughter is very talented. Has beautiful form. :)

I've seen her videos because her mom used to post here, but this child is, in all honesty, better than me at the level 3 routines (and I'm...not a L3). I've never attempted the level 3 routines but I'm just saying, I don't think I could do the leg cuts like that.

Hey, just listened to it and the floor music is the same as USAG! What's the deal with that? Surely that music isn't so wonderful that it warrants being used internationally? I now have the level 3, 4, and 5 music burned into my brain for all eternity. Can't wait for optionals! :D

AAU is in the US. They use the USAG routines with some modifications. Floor routine is the same. Some gyms compete AAU for L1, 2, 3 and then USAG. This is only in some states. FL mainly. It's just another amateur league, generally considered a little more laid back.

Wow. I need a tutorial of some sort. 'Parenting a Gymnast' for Dummies? If someone wants to write it, I promise to buy it!
Just keep coming here to CB you'll learn it all for free:D! It's one of the things I love about CB...it has opened me up to so much more then what I get exposed to at my DD's little gym:D!

Actually, the music is the same for both AAU and USAG. I emailed USAG to complain about the new music and it being required, and the reply I received said that it was just a rumor that the new music would be required. It is up to each gym's preference what music they use, they can choose old or new. You could look at the date, since USA traditionally does compulsory state meets in the fall (until this coming year). But I thought level 3 AAU did a complete mill circle on bars....I guess not.

This girl is good! And to win a state team title with only 3 girls is very impressive.
