A new League

I am currently competing level 4 USAG. I like it a lot, but I always wanted to be able to have optional rountines that are choreographed specifically for each gymnast. Are there any leagues in the IL area that start optionals at around the level 4 or 5 USAG? Something like the MDL, which I obviously cant join. I could wait till L7, but I'm just curious.

I'm not sure what Illinois has to offer. USAIGC is all optional routines, but there don't appear to be any gyms in your area.
I think USAG prep opt would probably be your best bet if a gym in your area offers that. It's starting to be more and more common but I'm not sure if it's taken off in your area yet. I would suggest looking at some local gym websites and seeing if they offer a prep opt program. If others in your area are participating, you might be able to get your gym to join in as well.

I was also going to suggest the Prep Optional team. It is a USAG sanctioned team (check their website for more details). It has really gotten to be quite large here in Virginia this year. My DD has really enjoyed her year doing this. She had competed Levels 4 through 6 and was training for Level 7 before her tumbling fears wiped her out! She has now overcome those fears and has been very successful competing her Level 7 floor, vault, beam and bars (without the giant tho).

Ya I searched and it says IL is starting this year! It'll be hard to find a gym that offers it, though
