My daughter just turned 7 and is in the highest rec level at her gym. The next level is pre-team. She loves gymnastics and I think she would have the skills to move up soon, however competitive gymnastics is just not something we can afford. I'm not even sure she will get asked to pre-team anyway. She would be so sad if she only had the choice of not being able to learn new skills or quitting. This would be strange to me since she is so young still.
Are there gyms that do higher level rec gymnastics? I am not sure exactly what level she is since they just call her class "advanced recreational." Examples of skills they are working on now are front walkover, vault forward roll to pike, back hip circle on bars and cartwheel on the low beam.
