I've fake quit my coaching job before! Also told a coach I had an out of gym injury. I love pranks. I studied abroad in Senegal and learned the hard way that they celebrate the whole month!

I also loved coaching younger kids on that day - we'd call it April tricky day and do silly things like stick our tongue out in a beam pose or call skills by an opposite name (tuck vs pike) or do things out of our normal order.

Ooh that's a good idea. I'm personally very injury prone so honestly it would be very believable. I absolutely love pranks too. Last year April Fools fell during spring break (didn't have practice or school) so all my pranks were over text/online haha.

Omg I'd love that! I wish someone would prank me lol but my friends don't often come up with good ones that I don't immediately catch on.

Oooh that sounds fun! I don't work Tuesdays but I'd like that. Honestly I'll see if I can pick up a shift just to make it fun for the kids.

one year the coach convinced our boys team that they had to start doing their floor routine to music. That was a good one. The next year he told the boys that beam was being added as an event for them and they had to learn it. You could turn it on the girls and say that pommel or rings were being added as events.

One year a parent served the coach french toast with "powdered sugar" taht was really chalk. this parent LOVED April fools day so it was expected for him.

I once had a kid come in on April 1st (which iirc was the week before regionals that year) with his foot in a boot, saying he got injured skateboarding. After doing some light stretching and conditioning, he sat down in front of me, pulled the boot off, then jumped up and down and said "I'm cured!"

I was not amused.

I "pranked" him back by making him vacuum the bar area.

He was similarly unamused.

Last year International Gymnast Magazine posted on their FB page a very real looking article on how the "Womens Technical Committee" was considering increasing the width of the balance beam... the end of the article said "Another FIG judge added, "We understand that this is a drastic change that is going to happen in a short amount of time, but deal with it. Happy April fools Day!" :)

My daughter was so dissapointed to find out it was just a prank, but also impressed at how well done this was!
