Hi everyone
Today I fell doing a casthandstand. I leaned to far forward and I let go. I would have landed on my head but my coach caught me and I was thrown on my back. Well it's a lot better then landing on my head but I hurt a lot and there was only the little blue mat that you put under everything that's only like an inch thick. When I landed I got the wind knocked out of me and I couldn't move my legs or get up. Everyone got really scared especially my other coach. Now I have bruises on my thighs and my legs still hurt.

Usually, in our gym, the athletes are taught how to fall from an ill-timed casttohandstand.

Bars = bruises, huh? It seems odd that this would happen to you...generally from a cast handstand you either arch off and land on your feet/knees if you overrotate, or you just turn out of it. One time during early-morning practice, I was doing cast handstands on a bar that was much lower than normal and instead of turning, I just went over. The bar was too low and fell on my butt! I was perfectly fine but it sure woke me up.
