The issue is that at some gyms, the day-to-day training a gymnast receives depends on the level she competes. That was the case at my daughter's former gym.

Sooo true like I said 6 used to be a dumping ground at our gym

With the changes my daughter and her buddy competed 6 last season and was training with our national stream girls so not the same training our previous 6’s would have gotten

Update: She got it! Thanks for the advice everyone. She also just got her fly away last week as well. Summer is amazing. I’m curious to know when your gyms do move-up evaluations. She got it just in time as evaluations were completed last week. They only have three weeks to get their new skills which I think is crazy.

Yes! This! Same issue we have at our gym.

Ours too. I think it’s insane they practice the same skills they already have all year even if they are scoring high nines.
