breaking ties

just wondering, I have been in many ties at competition and I wanted to know how the judges/announcers break those ties. if anyone knows, please answer!

USAG has a rule for that page 73, Award Tie Breaking System:
Link Removed

They recommend not breaking ties if possible and, of course, if it's not a USAG sanctioned meet, the meet can do whatever they (or the sanctioning organization) want.
