Will respectable programs ever take a gymnast midseason? My gymnast is L6 with state meet late-March and regionals mid-April. We are usually very loyal and “by the book” type people, but her gym has not been a good fit for several years. After a terrible experience last year (resulting in my child having panic attacks at the gym), we were promised things would be different this year. The summer was better, but the season has been very negative and my child’s mental and physical health is being affected. I’m at a loss on how to proceed.

Depends... we will... but we do not compete them until the next season.

I see this happen more than you might expect, and it seems to work out fine if there are any meets the old gym and new gym have both signed up for, your gymnast can switch her registration. Leos and all that might be complicated but if she's really unhappy get her out of there.
