Parents Child A/B age groups??

Hi,
I have a question about state meets and age placement. My daughter is 7, but turns 8 before December 31st of this year. Will she compete in the child B age group or the child A age group. I saw something that indicated that if she turns 8 before December 31st then she would compete in the child B (8-9 year old) age group. Is that correct? Thanks!

If that is how your state meet is doing age groups, then yes, she would be Child B for the state meet.

If what you saw was specific to your state meet, then yes she will be Child B. But if it was for a different meet or if you read it somewhere as a general rule/recommendation then that may not be the case.

Age groups for each state meet will be different based on the number of kids in the level. The host gym of your state meet should have the info on a website. You could also confirm with your child's coach.
