So im an entry level gold…I did competitive for a while before switching to rec…and I was wondering if it was possible to go to club college gymnastics. I know club is a bit more chill than regular but having either option would be great too. I was wondering if this would work:
8th grade:gold
9th grade: platinum
10th grade:level 6/7
11th grade:level 7/8
12th grade:level 8/9
Gap year:9/10
Just wondering if this was realistic. A gap year would be great because I’m graduating at 17 so I would take one either way but I could potentially spend all day (practice in the mornings, work in the afternoons, practice at night) at the gym. Any edits to my plan or advice would be amazing. TYSM

i think it can, being that ur so young is great! but definitely being in competition is important, u can show videos of ur meets for recruiting. make sure to record some of ur good training to send to colleges. good luck u got this! u can totally do this!

If things haven’t changed since I was in the US then you could show up and say you had never been upside down in your life and you would be able to join. Club gymnastics is nothing like USAG or collegiate gymnastics. It’s more about learning and competing what you can while enjoying your time with the other people at competition. I’m sure there is at least one college club out there that takes things too seriously but a club like that would be the exception and definitely not the rule.

NAIGC (College Club Gymnastics) uses these levels:
Xcel Silver, Xcel Platinum, Xcel Diamond, DP Level 9, and NAIGC Open Scoring Level.
Based on this, don't stress trying to move up a level each year. No matter where you are with gymnastics when you go to college, club gymnastics has a level to fit you.
Have fun with your gymnastics and good luck.
