WAG Compulsory made for specific body type?

However, I've noticing though that the leaner longer gymnast tends to score higher on floor. But maybe I'm just paranoid. Lol who knows
My daughter is not the 'long/lean' type....she's 'shorter' and all muscle. She is very strong on floor and vault and typically places top 3 on those events. She is also fairly strong on beam. She's Optional but I do recall when she was Compulsory, the coaches said that when they get to Optionals, they can show off a gymnast's strengths in most any event, tweaking what's needed in order to show off.
 
Mine is short and muscular. Last year her highest scoring events were bars and vault. This year her highest scoring events are beam and floor. Next year, she might decide she wants to try pommel and rings.

I think the "best event" thing fluctuates from year to year. I can't imagine TPTB would plan a routine around the build of a gymnast.


I completely agree. Last year, DD's worst event was beam. This year, she made huge strides and vault was her downfall.
