My child is a UK gymnast, age 8. She is on a typical competitive pathway, competed Prep 1 this year. She trains for 10 hours a week over four days. She then does conditioning on two of the days off, the final day she has as stretching only. Does this seem about right? Is it enough time to recover having the one day off? I often wonder how long she should be doing conditioning at home on her days off too?
