After researching the best HB grips for boys with small hands, I chose Deitch for my 8-year-old’s first grips. Most of the younger boys at the gym use Reisport but they all seem to struggle with adjusting to their first set of grips. My son was already doing front and back giants at when the coach approved him for grips and I didn’t want him to struggle with the transition..
Anyway, I 100% recommend Deitchgrips for boys first HB grips. My son was up doing giants within 20 minutes of first putting these on! There was no adjustment period at all. The leather is narrower and softer than Reisport. My son has been using these for a year and he wants to stick with them until he’s old enough for Reichel. The only downsides are that they don’t offer buckles and the way the Velcro tightens is a little bit challenging when they are new.
