These are DD’s three floor passes that she was working all summer- today the floor coach said she needs to change one: rudi, front layout front full, and front full front pike, plus a single back tuck.

Is there a valid reason to change a pass? Her coach is saying the last two are the same pass. She wants her to switch to a whip half front full, which DD can’t currently do.

Honestly, it doesn’t matter what we think, with all due respect. The coach makes those decisions. The coach knows the athlete well, I’m assuming. Maybe she’s trying to push her to have a pass with a backward element to save some composition deductions? Those passes are weak for L10 and will incur up to level and composition deductions.

Most likely, the couch has a good reason & hopefully you trust the coach and supported them with your daughter.

If she can front layout into twisting skills, , she should be able to transition to a whip 1/2 pretty easily.

Rudi (C), front layout (B) front full (C), and front full (C) front pike (B), plus a single back tuck (A).
Without any D or E saltos, she incurs a 0.20 Up to Level Deductions. The Back Tuck might as well not even be there because it adds NOTHING to the skill level.
