Parents DP Regionals

How do DP Regionals differ from other meets? My daughter is L6 and going for the first time. Our state meet just seems like any other meet except for the random start order and the USAG-branded medals, so I’m just wondering what to expect. Thanks!

They don't differ much, but I would say your daughter will at least be better matched according to age division.

They don't do that in our region, but they could in others. The only level that competes as a "state team" in our region is level 8.

State teams for level 8 are decided at the state meet. In Region 2, it's the top 8 out of the entire level. So only 8 girls go out of about 100. They compete at regionals in a completely different session as the rest of regionals- it's more of a fun meet. But those 8 girls will still compete for real in their age group with the rest of the qualifiers.

In Region 7, the top 8 from level 8 compete for the state meet but do not compete individually. All girls who are going regionals are getting a leotard this year.
