Ok so I never post but I had to share this because floor music has been the bane of my existence for years lol.
My daughter is Level 9 (first year) and SO picky. We've spent hours scrolling through all the usual sites and she either doesn't like anything, or finds something and then hears it at a meet and refuses to use it.

I saw advertising for Bouncelab at recent meet here in Seattle. You just type in what kind of music you want (you can be as detailed with the description as you'd like)—we said "something that starts powerful and dramatic, transitions into a lighter playful section for her dance, then builds back up to a big finish for her final pass, lots of violin". Within like 3 minutes it gave us three variations for us to listen to, all matching what we described. Was pretty cool. It puts in a 3 second pause, the beep, and was 90 seconds on the dot. So we didn't need to take it and then edit/cut ourselves.

The no one else has her exact music was a big deal for her too.

I about fell over when I saw the price. We paid $150 for custom music two years ago, and had to wait 3 weeks for it. This was $16 and instant.

Anyway just wanted to pass it along in case anyone else dreads floor music season as much as I do. The site is bouncelab.ai.

As a musician and coach, I really hope we're not headed for a future where floor music is just an endless sea of genAI slop.

I'm not speaking as a staff member (no rules broken, you're not in trouble or anything), merely as a musician, but let me go on record saying I strongly dislike this, and hope it does not become the norm.

That's a fair perspective and I appreciate you sharing it. I think there's still absolutely a place for human-composed music, especially at higher/elite levels where families are investing more. For us it was about finding something unique without breaking the bank. If anything, I hope tools like this make custom music more accessible to families who otherwise couldn't afford it at all—but I understand the concern.
