is a front aerial more a front walkover or a front handspring step out?

i would like to learn one (i can do a good side aerial from a stand). i can do front walkovers, but they really hurt my back on the up phase. front handsprings are fine, though.

should i learn a front aerial if front walkovers give me pain?

thanks

If front walkovers give you pain I would be looking into a physiotherapist, there may be some underlying issues and it may cause more problems later on down the track.

I have many kids who find front aerials easier than front walkovers. I event have two kids who can front aerial but can't front walkover. As front walkovers require a much greater amount of shoulder flexibility. While the front aerial will rely on back and leg flexibility, power and timing.

Well, you see a front walkover is like a flexibility skill while a front handspring is a power skill and requires less flexibility than walkover, landing on two feet. And just to confuse you, there is a front handspring step out which starts like a handspring but the landing is one foot after the other like you do in a walkover.

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
