I have always had trouble on bars. Always. Kept me from moving up for a while. I'm in level 5 (just moved up from the rec class) and I can't get my kip consistent, I arch my back in my tap swings, my front hipcircle isn't the greatest, I'm pretty close to my high bar kip, my undershoot is terrible. I keep trying to get better but it seems like nothing I do is working. I just want to better my bars.

It sounds as though you have improved, you've moved to levelfive! It also sounds as if you know what you need to work on which is going to lead to improvement. You'll be in the gym more now that you are at level five which will give you more time to perfect your skills and make them stronger. Unfortunately gymnastics is a long run, not a sprint. You will see small improvements before you have a huge one...it may be as simple as doing three kips consistently, or arching your back less in casts(really concentrate on that hollow posistion!). You'll do fine and again, if II have been moved to level five you have made great progress! Be patient, it will come, promise

Thanks, I went to practice yesterday and my bars seem to be improving. Not very connected, but I make the skills. I also got my high bar kip, my tap swings were better, and my re-griping was also better (something I forgot about, I used to let go of the bar instead of re-gripping like I'm supposed to).

Yeah, letting go of the bar instead of re-gripping is not a good thing lol. I was doing a BHC once without my grips, and forgot to compensate for not having them on, and landed flat on my back. It was actually pretty funny. Glad things are smoothing out for you, they will continue to improve!!!! Good job!!!
