I saw a random post in my Facebook feed suggesting that there is a rule change that is going to change USAG DP level 5 bars to include a cast to handstand requirement. Nothing I can see from the rules or committee meetings suggests that is true. Our coaches, in the meantime, have been vaguely/menacingly talking to the girls about how if they don’t have their kip cast handstand, they’ll repeat level 4.

Is this a USAG DP requirement for 25-26 or just a bunch of coaches prepping for optionals and trying to push girls by saying it’s “official”?

Not happening. I don't know where people get their information. The USAG newsletter just was sent out with all the updates links.

Thanks. That’s one of the many documents I went through.

One of our gym’s coaches is someone who seems to be involved in those meetings so maybe this is part of their personal agenda and why our lower level coaches have been obsessing over it. A clean cast handstand is a big jump for my non-prodigy, one-season level 4 who is still moving all of her level 5 requirements from straps.

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
