Hi all,
I recently got my first pair of grips. They are shaped to my hand and fit well. I was wondering how you properly grip the bar with them. Every time I do any type of swing, they loose their shape and get rumpled in my hand. Do you have any tips for getting over this problem? Thanks in advance!

It should more or less look like this (it's a men bar and a men grip, so obviously there are some differences, but it was the only good picture I found) :

The dowell part of the grip should be on the opposite side of the part. It's what make you grip. The fingers in the grip should not touch the bar.

Honestly though, you chould get it checked out by a coach, who could show you how to use them, which is much easier than describing it on a forum.
(Based on what you said, I am also not 100% convinced that they fit. Did you get it checked out?)

Edit : It might actually be a bit clearer in this image, where you can clearly see the dowell.

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
