She has tried all brands. She uses English bulldog double buckle. Every 4-6 weeks seems rip or leather rips! What brand / style are they? My daughter was going through the US Glove hot shots pretty quickly and then we realized they aren’t meant for gymnasts over 100lbs or upper levels. She switched to a heavier duty grip from US Glove and they are lasting a lot longer now
Various ways, often seams and/or leather rips. Sometimes they stretch too much but that’s less common for her than the ripping. She has to get a new pair 4-6 weeks ish. If it’s normal then we will just carry on but if anything can be done to at least help slow this down I am all ears!!I would suggest storing them very nicely and not using water would help, but honestly once you get to a certain level you will go through grips very fast. It's just a part of gymnastics. How is she going through them? Are they ripping, stretching excessively, thinking, etc.? That can help narrow down the problem.
This would be due to the water. I know that WAG athletes prefer to use water and chalk on their grips as apposed to just chalk but this ruins the grip and it is highly unrecommended by grip companies. That being said it is up to you what you do but maybe consider not using water or using barely any, because the bar is chalked up with water to create that cakey texture so it is not really needed on the grips as well.Various ways, often seams and/or leather rips.
