We got an email from the owners of our gym stating that they have now partnered with Emler Swim Company (now transitioning to Emler Swim and Gym). The email was confusing stating that they are “excited to share that they have entered into a new partnership with a youth fitness focused company – Emler Swim and Gym” making it sound like they didn’t sell the gym, but ended the email with the owners saying “In the short term, we will be still engaged in the business just as before. But over the next 6-12 months, we will transition out as we move onto the next phase in our personal lives” making it sound like they sold it. A part of me is wondering if this is turning into another Powers situation. If you look up Emler Swim and Gym online, nothing pops up but the link in the email we got leads us to I’m guessing their new website (https://emlerswimandgym.com/) It’s fishy to me because we have had 2 gyms within a 30 minute radius shut down in within the past 3 months and another one get rid of their boys program. Team programs around the metroplex are overflowing and though I hate to say it, rec right now is kind of getting pushed to the side… and we all know rec is the lucrative part of the business. According to my child’s coach, the gym was sought out by Emler after being told no by some pretty well-known gyms in the area and that this is completely normal because Evo (keep in mind, Evo is based in Florida and we are based in Texas) has 12 sponsors. With this gym having an elite TNT team, with many athletes on national team and getting international assignments, and a jr elite male gymnast, they wouldn’t get rid of the team programs… right??? If they do, it’s going to put a whole lot of families, including us, in a big pickle because their aren’t very many… healthy (?) boys programs in the metroplex. Finally, if you look on the website it says that their gymnastics centers will offer dance, cheer, and ninja… which our gym currently doesn’t offer… I don’t know if I’m just overreacting or if this seems a little weird to anyone else.

Looking at the "View all Gymnastic Centers" part of the website, I checked out ALL (2) gyms. The first one (Metro in Tigard, OR) does claim to have a boys team (Levels 3-10) and a girls team (Levels 2-10). On mymetscores, they don't have any L10 listed since 2016, but they had 2 gymnasts at L9 Westerns this year. They also offer Xcel now, too.

I hadn’t gotten the chance to check mymeetscores yet so that’s good to know, I’m just thinking about the future, we love the gym and would like to stay but corporate management in the gymnastics world seems weird to us.
