In a backwards shoulder roll on beam will there be a deduction if I grab under the beam, and not just the sides?
Also, do I need to stand up before I do it for it to count as a skill? Exp. Instead I swing one leg over in my mount, while sitting on the beam, stretch, then go straight into my back shoulder roll.

When I was in gold, I competed a shoulder roll right after my mount (I never stood up) and grabbed under the beam… I don’t think that I got any deductions for either of those skills and I never had an issue with getting skill credit!

Thank you!
I talked to my coach at practice the other day and she was saying it was called "anchoring" if I hold under the beam during a backward roll and I would get a deduction... she hasn't stayed in track with a ton of the changed/new rules (that's the other coach's job, but I can't ask her at the time) did that used to be a rule and it changed? Was it never a rule? Is it still a rule?
Thanks :)
