Hello people! I am so glad to be a part of chalk bucket now! One of my friends found this website and told me all the interesting things about it. I am a level 7 training for regionals on April 29 this year and I am so excited. I live in Florida with all of my teammates who care for me. Surprisingly I have a coach that was in the Olympics witch is sooooo cool, AND we have the OLYMPIC TORCH IN OUR LOBBY!

Welcome to the CB. There are gymnasts, parents, coaches, judges and just plain folks interested in gymnastics here. There is lots of wisdom that is shared. Take from here what helps and just ignore any advice that just doesn't seem to fit.

You said you are a L7 going to Regionals - Good Luck!! Our L7's can only go to states you have to be a L8 or above to go to a regional meet.

Oh really well were we are you can be an excel gymnast which you go to regionals no matter what as long as you made it to state and our 8s, 9s, and 10s you have to be in a certain place out of the entire state which I think every state does I think.

Region 8 is the only region where they have adopted a L7 regionals. It's nice that they have it but it is very tough to qualify. In NC, for example, only the top 34 girls across all age divisions qualify vs 51 girls for L8. (the numbers are percentages and change every year.

I know Florida Xcel has different Levels than the reset of Region 8 - only novice and open, right? So how do the coaches decide which level you will compete in at regionals? Do all the Prep opens compete platinum and the novices compete silver or gold?

good luck at regionals
