Wondering how to help with 7 year old Xcel bronze floor routine. They had 2 one hour private lesson with coach in Oct to learn it and maybe run through it once every 2 weeks for 5 minutes at practice. She seems to do well on the gymnastics elements such as pointed toes in cartwheel etc but rushes through other parts, doesnt look at judges etc. And her scores definitely reflect that. Her coach kinda of cringes when she does it and offers feedback like"maybe slow down". We have 1 more external competition and 1 internal. Our club usually does not offer private lessons but did offer a few last month but they were full before I got the email they existed. Should I let it go and hope they help her more next year or figure out another way to help her with it so she could finish the year feeling good about her floor routine.
If help any good suggestions on what or how? I'm not a dancer but feel like it needs some elements kids learn in
dance such as timing and engaging the audience or judges?

Did you record a video when she learned the routine? I always have my families do that so they can see exactly how it was choreographed and then they can practice at home. If not, see if the coach has one for their record, or if they would be willing to do a video for you. It really does help, especially with the new team kids.
