Can someone share some drills or links with drills to remove the pike out of vaults? I'm so frustrated. I'm not a vault coach, but have 3 teams that i now have to train all events. They are so inconsistent! I have girls that go from 9.7 to 8.2 the very next meet. They have lots of power and are very strong. Help!

Do you mean pike before the hands hit the horse, or after?

If it's before, it's probably coming from from not driving the heels back in the takeoff from the springboard. Drills for the heel drive action - heel drives laying down on a block. Not getting the feet in front of them on the springboard can also contribute - for that I'd make sure they're hurdling from far away enough. Use a visual cue to make sure, like a line or a mat on the ground. Can also do drills with getting the feet in front just with a springboard by itself, not the whole vault. They should feel like they're leaning back slightly when they hit the springboard.

If they pike after the hands hit, it can be because the vault as a whole is slow so they're trying to get over. For that - running drills, fast heel drive drills. Or because they're trying to see the landing - in which case have them look at their hands.

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
