How do you get HP status?

I'm asking about Novice specifically. Is it everyone who competes at Elite Canada? Is it the top so many?

I think top 20.

I think it number can change depending on numbers of all categories. Also there are petitions so it they are naming 28 and there are 8 allowable petitions then top twenty after day two will get HP status.

I just went through this with Alex. This weekend.

This weekend there were 48 girls in total. They competed on day one for 36 spots
The 36 competed on day two for 20 spots
They take the combined scores of both days and that is your overall ranking
You need a certain score and also need to be in top 20 to get high performance.
8 more spots are petitioned in. Some girls who were high performance last year are hurt and couldn't compete so they have to 'fight' for a spot and GO approves or declines. The girls who also placed 21-28 will also try and petition in.

High performance guarantees them a spot at nationals and guarantees them to compete on day 2

So proud. Alex placed 5th overall this weekend and is now high performance. Nationals here we come.
