I started gymnastics in October 2023 and now according to watching some routines and getting some advice from people I am close to xcel silver and could compete bronze. Btw I did start gymnastics late when I was 10, I have a busy schedule (monday-thursday has after school stuff but after 2024-2025 school year ends it will probably only be monday-wednesday) My gym does xcel tryouts in May and I wanna know about how many days and hours should xcel bronze and silver gymnasts train.

My daughter is in Bronze and she trains 6 hrs/week. She does 2 hour practices, three times per week.

I was part of a low hours program and that level did 2.5 hours twice a week so 5 total. Depending on coaching availability, there might be an option of an extra day.

Our Bronze team trains 5 hours per week.

My old gym were I did bronze and silver, and my current gym where I did another year of silver both practiced 3 hours a week (2, 90 minute practices).

Our gym does 3 days a week for all levels of xcel, bronze is 2 hours 15 minutes per practice (6.75 per week), silver 2 hours 45 minutes per practice (8.25 per week), gold plus is 3 hours per practice (9 hours per week). Sometimes before meets they have an additional practice day but that one is only an hour and a half. I feel like our gym has bronzes that are pretty overqualified since we offer 3 levels of rec most kids ideally complete first and no DP team, but our gym is also pretty small and a lot of overlapping classes so I understand why the bronzes come 3 times a week given that.

In general I would say most excel teams practice 2-4 times a week and between 5 and 15 total hours a week. More than that many days and hours you are basically doing DP training hours. For bronze or silver you can probably find a gym that only has practice twice a week but for gold plus I would plan on 3 times a week for 2-3 hours a practice
