Hi,
I'm a team coach, currently levels 5-9, mostly on bars. I'd love to do beam too, because I think its a challenge, but we already have a beam coach at our gym. I have been coaching for 10 years, and I love it so so much. I love watching the girls learn new skills and succeed in competition. I came to the gym I'm at now in the middle of September. I was shocked when I saw some of the level 5s often missed their kips, some of the 2nd year level 6s couldn't connect a routine or do a clearhip. But I got right to work and we've made huge improvements. Still lots of work to do, though. The 9s are really 8/9s. They've had 2 meets already and done well at level 8, but I really hope they can get the skills they need to compete 9 at atleast a few meets this year.
I love watching coaching videos, reading about drills, coming up with plans for the gymnasts. I just can't get enough. Really glad to have found this site.
