Heard this broadcasted on NPR yesterday afternoon. I thought it was interesting, and it discusses genetic links to likelihood of athletes being prone to certain types of injuries. It also discusses some pros/cons of genetic testing of elite athletes to set ideal workouts, etc (or even allow young kids to choose the "right sport for their bodies").

I know there's a truckload of controversy there. ;)

Anyway - my DD just might be prone to tendinitis, so I found this to be pretty great and thought I'd share here in case any of you are interested in learning more/listening. It's under ten minutes.

Disclaimer: there is a slight undertone of selling genetic testing (not by speaker's company), but I still personally found it worth the listen. It made me think.

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
