I remember reading somewhere that a cat's purr helps to mend bones. Okay, so maybe it's not real science, but I AM the crazy cat lady after all! ;) Needless to say, any time DD has had a bone issue, we plop one of our cats on to the troubled area and let the purring begin! If nothing else, it's soothing.:) Best of luck to you and your gymmie, OP. Injuries are the worst (we just limped through a season after a surgery). And to second what many have already said, YES - it is very important for the psyche to keep her in the gym.

Off topic.

Cats do help keep the injured still.

My friend used to put one on her elderly grandmother's lap after grandma broke her hip. She would not disturb the cat so she would stay put even when she forgot she broke her hip. The seatbelt cat was the only way my friend could take a break.

On topic. OP I hope your DD heals quickly. Visualization of her routines and skills will help muscle memory and should help her keep, her skills. You may look into doc Ali or another visualization aid to help.
