So, D had to miss a couple of workouts because we started school on Wednesday and they were still on summer schedule. We scheduled a private for Friday night, well, because the thought of no gym for 4 days was a little scary LOL!
Usually, privates are frustrating for D. He does not process auditory info very quickly, so sometimes it takes him a while to hear, process and use information. NOt a huge problem, except when he is 1:1 and it looks like he isn't making changes. His coach is great, and has learned that often, the corrections will show up in his gymnastics (and in life) a day or 2 later. But, still, frustrating
This private was totally different. Not sure why, but I think he must have been on the verge of a lot of stuff and this was just perfect timing. I haven't watched in a few weeks, but stayed since it was only an hour and we live 20 minutes away.
Anyway, long story long, he managed to do " the other giants" alone, unspotted! (not sure which ones, but the hands are backward?) and started working the pirouette do the first giants. Then they went to floor where he got his ROBHS-back whip- back tuck independently. Then, he did his robhsback full on tumble trak as well as his front full and a "rudy?"
He so needed this after a very frustrating summer, and coach has dangled the level 8 carrot in front of him. Has to get the level 7 routines down solid first, and then they will talk. According to D he has the basic routines on floor, rings, pommel, and vault. So, he is getting close and excited again!
Thanks for letting me brag a bit
