Women JO Nationals Junior/Senior A vs B vs C?

What is the difference between A B and C at JO nationals? In other words how do they decide on these groupings?

You'll have to excuse me if this is a ridiculous question, I'm not American and it was my first year watching/following JO nationals.

It's about age. Junior A is youngest and senior F oldest. The exact ages for each group are on the site of JO nationals

The age groups vary every year. They were decided by splitting all gymnasts across the country who had qualified for a regional championship meet into roughly equal groups by age.
