Why are there so few boys level 7s? Do boys usually skip this level? My son had one meet where he was the only level 7 and another meet where he was one of 2 level 7s? It will be interesting to see at the state meet this weekend how many level 7s exist in our state.

I was so glad that we traveled to California for the Palm Tree Classic as there was a large number of level 7s that DS got to compete with and make friends with.

At my son's gym they skip level 8. he is only a 4, so I haven't asked why that is.

I think a lot skip because 7 is #$!^ hard, especially pommel horse. I'm wondering if there will be changes in the new routines to address this.

the boys system is changing next competitive season. most of the boys coaches decided to keep their boys right where they were this year to get them ready for the change next season.

We have several 7s. Right now 8 is often skipped. Could just be a fluke in your state this year. Not sure!! We are a 5 right now, so I haven't thought about it much, but I don't think 7 is skipped that often!
