i was a ballerina for around 11 years now [still going] and i started competitive gymnastics recently and i have been searching for this answer. in dance our leaps usually go through a 'developpe' where you sort of passe into your leap but ive been told for gymnastics youre supposed to swing your leg into it straight. However, ive seen many routines from high scoring gyms that DO go through a developpe. can it be either or just one?
