Parents Level 10 nationals alternates

Hi! I was wondering if anyone has experience with their daughter being 1st alternates to nationals? Trying to get a sense for if most alternates travel or stay home unless they’re called well in advance. Just don’t know the expectation and the decision on whether to travel is being left to my daughter. Just weighing pros and cons.

I have seen it all. Someone getting a last minute call & driving all night, people flying across the country & not being called up. I would say as a parent, you need you be aware if you do attend your daughter might not compete. I personally like it (as a coach) when alternates can attend for the experience.

Thank you. We know the odds are small but would kick ourselves if she missed it and could have competed and also it seems like it's a pretty cool experience anyway right? Even for the alternates?
