My 15 year old level 10 gymnast wants to go elite. She recently made this decision after thinking she wanted to do college gymnastics.

She has all bar ans vault skills on Fig andnis basically missing one additional release on bars and is working on her tsuk full. She has a great tsuk layout currently. On bars she has a Jaeger, bail and is working on her maloney. If she works really hard does she have a decent chance.?

Her coach thknks she can do it if she really focuses on the goal.

Thanks for any advise you can offer.

She does not have to be an elite to do college gymnastics.. if it were me i would concentrate on being the very best level 10 she can be! Did she go to nationals at a level 10?
She went to nationals as a level 10, yes. She recently decided that she wants elite before college of she makes it. She has a very strong floor including double pike, double back tuck and a full in and a strong beam with double back dismount and front tuck mount.
She is a bit weakernon bars.

Just go on You Tube and watch the Sr. Elites

Does her gym currently train Elite? It doesn’t sound like she has much time to get and perfect the skills she’ll need for Elite. Focusing on being a solid college recruit seems more realistic.

She has just turned 15, so she will have one year of junior to try for. She wants to just make it for now. (not necessarily be the most competitive) Its a goal of hers aporantly. Her gym currently trains elite

No if she 15 now she will have to go Sr. Elite because she will be 16 in 2026. Don’t know where you are getting your info from but it’s wrong.

Just look at Gabbie Hardy she’s 15 and she’s a Sr. Elite because her birthday is in like November. They don’t care for what month they turn 16. Your kid can be 15 and her birthday is December 31st. Once January 1st hits you have to try for Sr. Elite
