Hi, 👋 Level 8 gymnast here. Do you need a backtuck for beam in level 8? Do you only need one if you do a certain routine? My routine probably will be mount, BHS-BHS series, switchleap -spllit jump- flutter, and round-off tuck/layout dismount. If you don’t beed one why do some girls do one? Does it score better? Thanks 🙏

If you do a BHS-BHS, you don't need one. A front walkover or backward roll works. Some 8s do a BWO BHS series and incur a composition deduction for that series which a back tuck will make up for because it's another flight.
There is no bonus for a BT but sometimes I still think it looks good. My daughter started the season doing a backward roll and finished doing a back tuck. Her bhs/bhs series was always solid and no wobbles and she scored better with the back tuck in.
