Hey all,

I was planning to compete xcel sapphire this year, but my gym switched the sapphires to level 8 for our first meet because there are no sapphires from other gyms enrolled. We are trying to rework my routines for the level 8 requirements. My sapphire floor routine was going to be...

Double turn
Front lay, front pike
Switch leap, Switch half
Front full
Ariel

What will my start value be with this routine in lv 8, and what do I need to add/what could I take out to maximize my score? Thank you!

In 8, you need a back salto of some kind, if you have time in your music and the endurance, you could add a back tuck/layout etc. (it only needs to be an "A"), and you would have a 10.0 SV.

Thanks for the info! Still curious if the double turn is necessary, or if it could be replaced with a full turn. Also would love some help workshopping beam. My sapphire routine was going to be:

A-rated mount
Full turn
Cartwheel, Roundoff
Switch Leap, Split Half
Barani dismount

How can I get closer to a 10 SV?

You can just do a full turn on floor instead of a double.

For your beam, you have all of the SV, but are getting deducted 0.3 in difficulty (0.2 for acros, and 0.1 for dismount), and 0.1 for lack of acros in different directions (you need to perform a forward acro skill and a backward acro skill).

For acros, you need a flight connection with 2 "B"s, and an additional "A" and "B" skill.
For your dismount, you need a "B" dismount, or connect your a "B" acro skill to an "A" dismount.
