I know this question is asked all the time but I have a few questions about what level I should do, my coach and I are thinking L8, but just getting another set of opinions. Sorry in advance for it being long and possibly confusing.
Vault:
Tsuk tuck for sure as I can do it now, hopefully a pike
Bars:
Kip, cast handstand 1/2, sole circle, tow on catch high bar (this would have to come out for L8 right?), high bar kip, cast handstand, giant, giant, layout flyaway, or I can do a half it needed, working on full.
Beam:
BHS step out BHS two foot series, Switch split, wolf or pike jump, back tuck (this would also have to come out?), full turn or full turn with leg at horizontal, round off back tuck or layout dismount
Floor:
RO BHS layout 1 1/2 (can only do a full?), front tuck RO BHS back tuck or layout, and Front layout full (can only front layout?), then also switch split, switch side and double turn.

Not all of these routines are 100% set, but since the meet we are going to is in January we are really working the skills, and they are all there or really close. If you were my coach what level would you have me do? I know I have to water some stuff down on most events, but I don't think L9 is really an option with the bars being so much harder. What do you think? And would my requirements be fullfilled in L8 with these routine?

I think you need an inbar skill for level 8 (clear hip, toe hand, stalder) at least a B. You are close to level 9 though.

Thanks, i can add a freehip to a little above horizontal into my routine if needed, we were just unsure if it was needed. And gymdog i am 17.

The free hip should be to handstand for level 8, or it will incur heavy deductions. But since all your other skills are good for 8, you should probably compete it even if your bars don't score well.

It doesn't have to be to handstand to fulfill the requirement, but it does need to be a "b" skill - I've seen routines with 3/4 handstand clear hips score in the 9.3-9.5 range.

Level 9, take the deduction on bars (if you do toe hecht you'll have a release, just missing a bar change). So it's not gonna be a great score. You can't do straddle back at all?

Or do individual event specialist and drop bars. The BHS BHS on beam is a good, punching series? Definitely connected with no questions?

If i have enough other Bs do i still need the freehip? 2 years ago i did level 8 without giants because i had all the other skills and got around a 7.4. i have not really worked on straddle backs, its not a skill that is really useable here so its not something that we work on. The bars here are easier compared to other events at the same level here. The BHS series, is a step out then a two foot, not punching. I think either level would be beneficial, either doing well and getting confidence or competing newer harder skills.

Sorry, missed that you were in Canada. I have no idea what the level 9 requirements are there. By punching I mean a fast connection with no stop.

Im sorry i didnt make this clear, i am from canada and we are going to one competition in the states, for which my level has to be decided, L8 or L9, but only for one meet then i am back to doing the routines that i listed here. Thanks for all the help, knowing it is only for one meet which level would you say.

You are missing bonus on most events for level 9, but it is not unusual to see level 9's compete without bonus, and you can still be competitive. As gymdog pointed out, you are missing the second bar change so are missing that 0.5 requirement and you are also missing B dismount on beam(also 0.5). But I would say based on your age, skills you listed and the fact that it is one meet, go for level 9. It is very common to see level 9's compete a bar set here with a lower start value, but I would suggest you try to upgrade the beam dismount - can you do a roundoff/tuck or layout half?
