Hi Everyone,
I'm new to chalk bucket and I'm a pretty new gymnastics parent. What a great resource, I've already learned a lot by reading the posts. Thanks to all who contribute!
My son is a level 4 and is 8 years old. We recently moved from the US to Costa Rica where he has continued his training. Fortunately he's had some success already here by winning the national championship for level 4. This success has motivated him to compete more often.
The problem here in Costa Rica is that although he goes to an excellent gym, the competitions here are few and far between for his age. There are only a couple competitions a year in November/December for his age.
How can I get him into competitions in the US? Would we need to affiliate and train with a US based gym in order to be able to register for competitions? How could we get the routines he would need to learn? Is virtual training provided? We could do all his training here with additional private instruction for his competition perhaps? Any other ideas?
Very sorry if these questions are sophomoric, again I'm new to the gymnastics parent thing.
Thank you for your help!!!
Here's a few pictures from his competition. Was super nervous during his interview!!
