So I was just watching a young talented YMCA gymnast on you tube.
Is there much movement between the different programs? (well other than gyms doing JO and Excel and moving kids to excel if they aren't so good/too old/don't want the hours).

Same as I guess what is the chance of a gymnast at a non-elite gym making it to elite/national team?

Probably very low as many gyms who do not train elites are not interested in the hassle of it. Their philosophy focuses on L10/Collegiate and most kids and parents who would want to go elite would have to find a gym that caters to that.

As for the part of your question about the YMCA gymnast, there are YMCA meets, but YMCA gymnasts can also be USAG members and compete in USAG meets, along with Y meets.
