Mine has done both gymnastics and competitive dance for the past three years. Gymnastics is 16 hours/week (L7) and dance is 10 hours/week. She is also at an academically rigorous private school with a good amount of homework, so it’s a lot. We’ve been trying to get her to chose one or at least drop one back in intensity, but no luck so far 🤪

What grade is she in? I'm wondering because I might be doing cheer (thankfully only four hours), gymnastics for 16 hours and then student council stuff and a law magnet

Wondering how many children are in dance in addition to gymnastics? If so what type of dance?
Many gymnasts at our gym seem to be doing both even the kids that are already at the gym 16 to 20 hours a week.
Wondered if this is typical at other places?
It’s super common at our gym too. Most of the girls take ballet specifically to help with their form and toe points on floor and beam. Even with the high hours, that crossover really helps with the artistic side of the sport.

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
