no! these can't be used for competition either. it must be a free standing rig. all the manufacturers make them tp spec for their bars.

Have you looked into renting the equipment? I know for the larger meets in our area that are held outside of an actual gymnastics facility, most people rent the equipment. There are a couple guys in our area that handle that and they can also help with the setup. I'm not sure if you can rent just certain pieces, like only the bars, or if you have to rent everything. I'm also not sure of the cost, but it might be something to look into. Better safe than sorry!
