I'd just do the usual strength you do in the gym on your days off, like:
-V-ups
-hollow holds (this shouldn't hurt your back, I don't think)
-hollow rocks
-leg lifts, if you can find monkey bars or a chin-up bar or something
-sit ups and crunches
-bicycles (sort of like crunches, if you don't know what they are)
-handstands
-windshield wipers (hang in a leg-lift position and sweep your toes left and right without taking them off the bar)
-leg lifts in straddle position
-leg lifts where you only go so your legs are horizontal, back up to the bar, down to horizontal, back up, etc...don't let your legs go down to hang. This works a different muscle.
-Straddle leg lifts from horizontal

thank you! the hollow rocks and holds are great!

All of those exercises listed are what you need for abdominal strength.

Since you complain of back pain when performing them, where?

It may be a good idea to work in some superman/woman holds, sometimes called arch holds besides arch rocks.

Another good exercise is called the reverse hyper. Sometimes called superman or reverse leg lifts. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0oBujeicIs&feature=fvw

You can do these by laying on the vault table or a block or a pommel horse.

Work sets of 10-20. 2-3 sets, with a hold on the last rep for 5-10s.

Another would be glute bridges. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SoQj0SaOGHI

These can be pretty easy though. I like having the kids put their feet in a frisbee and slide slide back and forth while in the glute bridge.

I will edit your title, using the word stomach makes people think you are feeling nauseous when you do bars. What you need are stronger abdominal muscles. YOur stomach is the thing all your food goes into!

haha thanks, i thought about that, but i did not know how to change it :D
