New Mat - Really hard!!!

We got a new Tumbltrak Dismount Mat today. Yahoo, very excited. However, the darn thing is so hard it hurts to land on it! I started taking my classes and have the kids just jump up and down on it to try and get it broken in. How long will it take so that we can actually use the thing? I'm not comfortable tumbling onto it myself let alone my kids.
