I am the same way as my daughter so our personalities clash a great deal. We both want things a certain way. I take medicine for my anxiety though with not being perfect. In her mind it is not ok for her to make a mistake. It isn't just with gymnastics. It is with school as well. My husband is often our mediator. Her brother made a 98 on his math test and she made a 92 and she cried. It's just her personality. You can't change a child's personality. You can only encourage them and love them.

Her coaches are aware she has a bar and beam. The other girls in her class have equipment at home as well. It has never been discouraged. I didn't know it was a "no no" until I joined this board. Ava practices on it daily. That is how she got her bar skills so quickly.

Beam deductions

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some help understanding my deductions on beam. I’ve been watching my videos back, but I’m having trouble figuring out exactly where the judges are taking the most off. If anyone is willing to take a look and give me some feedback, I’d really appreciate it. I’m especially curious about execution deductions, rhythm/connection issues, and anything in my acro or dance that might be costing me. The judge started me at a 10 for this routine, and I got a 9.1
