Women Order of gymnasts at meet

Are coaches allowed to choose the order in which the gymnasts go in at meets? (For Xcel Plat if it matters)

For us, yes, except state and regionals where it is a random draw. Sometimes we ask for volunteers to go first and/or let the girls work it out and decide their order.

Last year my daughter's coaches seemed to put the strongest beam routine up first (falls were catching!), but put the strongest floor worker last. Working the mental angles, I guess.

Yes I think so at most meets, not state, regionals etc though.

Ah okay, thanks! Last season for DP, we couldn't choose the order and I have this thing that if I go first, I'll mess up...

Never have I seen that. At our competitions the order is always chosen by the competition at random.

The order remains the same in each apparatus, but whoever was first goes last and everyone moves up the list.

Example for 5 competitors

Apparatus 1 - 1 2 3 4 5

Apparatus 2 - 2 3 4 5 1

Apparatus 3 - 3 4 5 1 2

With a couple of exceptions it usually goes weakest to strongest on each event. As mentioned above, not at State or above meets.

In the past we have had what appeared to be a random order, this year it has been strictly by alphabet and then at the next apparatus the person who went first goes to the back of the queue

Not sure about states. So many age groups her teammates were rarely in the same sessions
