DD's best friends are in the gym, so I think that takes some of the sting out of missing social activities with non-gym friends. I might worry more if she was serious pianist or something where she was shut in a room by herself. To a certain extent, it's no different than going to after-school clubs or whatever.

So true, I was worried about the hours of out of school activities my youngest is doing in kindergarten. Until I realised that one of her friends is at before and after school care every day from 7am to 7pm. A few hours of gymnastics after school is way easier than that.
